The rest of the table works together and collaborates to interpret those cryptic clues that the ghost has given and piece together the truth. It’s eerie, fun, ghost themed, and incredibly engaging.
I’ve found the Mysterium board game works best when an older kid or adult takes on the ghost player—it’s the most challenging part, but also the most fun to watch unfold. While there’s a bit of setup involved, the rich artwork, cooperative gameplay, and “what were you thinking?!” moments make it a favorite pick for immersive game nights.

Sheriff of Nottingham is a fun, sneaky bluffing and negotiation game. Each player take turns smuggling goods past the Sheriff as merchants. The person playing the Sheriff may or may not be open to a bribe. During each round the players whom take the role as merchants secretly fill their bags with legal (or illegal) goods and try to convince the current Sheriff to let their bag through without inspection. However, if you get caught smuggling contraband, you’ll pay the price. Of course you can try and lie or offer a bribe. The board game Sheriff of Nottingham shines in groups that love trickery and some deception.
